Lightning F.6 XS933 at Binbrook, 30th May 2025; Mike Patterson

XS933 first took to the skies in 1967 before retiring in 1987, and was sold the following year.

The airframe was then reduced to a cockpit section and moved to Narborough in Norfolk, before moving to the Terrington Aviation Collection just a month later. The cockpit also moved to Low Ham in Somerset for a little while before moving to the Farnham area.

In more recent years, the cockpit was acquired by Mike Patterson, who dug the cockpit out of its previous home, where it had begun to disappear into the surrounding hedges, and relocated it to Binbrook. Over the past few years, the cockpit has seen a huge restoration, both internal and external, including a fresh repaint, and currently remains at Binbrook alongside the 'A1 Lightning' XN728. In 2025, XS933 was treated to a new trailer and has already been venturing out on the road to numerous shows!
