Lightning F.6 XR759 at Northamptonshire, 2025; Glenn Edwards

After retirement, XR759 was sadly scrapped; however, the cockpit section was saved by Andrew and Anna Exton, who transported it to their place in Haxey, Lincolnshire. The cockpit sat in their garden for several years until they decided to move it on in August 2020. The interior was in a fairly poor state with no front panels fitted at all, the canopy was starting to fade, but the exterior seemed to be in fairly good condition, carrying 56 Squadron markings.
The cockpit section was taken on by Glenn Edwards, who transported the cockpit to North Weald, where its restoration began. However, by October 2022, he transported it to his place in Northamptonshire, where the project got into full swing! Today, the interior has been tidied up and is pretty much fully complete, with the exterior getting a makeover into 11 Squadron markings.
XR759 is on private land and is not publicly accessible, alongside Glenn's complete Lightning ZF596.
