Jaguar GR.1 XX764 at Enstone Airfield, 6th December 2025; Jake Wallace

XX764 was delivered to 14 Squadron in the summer of 1975, later being transferred to the 226 OCU based at RAF Lossiemouth, where it would go on to spend the rest of its flying career.

The airframe was retired in September 1984 to RAF Shawbury for storage, but was later moved on to St Athan, where it was primarily used as a training airframe and some parts recovery, gaining the maintenance number 9010M. By 2007 and the type's retirement, XX764 was placed up for disposal, being purchased by an aviation parts dealer, Hayward and Green, based in West Sussex.

After being dismantled, parts recovered, and sitting outside in the elements for several years, the airframe began to deteriorate, with water leaking into the rather sparse cockpit, and corrosion setting in on the wing surfaces.

In late 2017, Neil Atterbury purchased the airframe as a restoration project. Moving it slightly closer to home at Enstone Airfield, Neil soon got to work on the huge restoration. Since he acquired it back in 2017, today the cockpit is now fully complete, and the original paintwork has been restored as much as 40-year-old paint can be, and he has even fitted the engine exhausts and burner rings to the airframe, and so much more.
