Hunter F.58 J-4098 at Hermeskeil, 8th August 2025; Jake Wallace

A good example of a preserved Swiss F.58 Hunter is this one, J-4098, seen on display at the Flugausstellung P. Junior Museum near Hermeskeil in Germany.
J-4098 was delivered to the Swiss Air Force in 1960 as an F.58, going on to serve with 4 Squadron and 15 Squadron. The airframe retired in the late 1990s, landing at Emmen-Hahn before it was acquired and moved to Hermeskeil for their large and fast-growing aircraft collection. J-4098 was placed undercover in one of their buildings, where it remains today, helping to preserve it in its original condition.
The aircraft, as you can see, appears to be in excellent condition, still sporting its original in-service paint, which is always nice to see, complete with grime and paint touch-ups!
