Canberra B.2 WH725 at Duxford, 21st June 2025; Damien Burke

First flown in May 1953, WT725 entered service first with 15 Sqn at RAF Coningsby and later transferred to 50 Sqn at RAF Binbrook, moving to RAF Upwood with the squadron when they switched stations.

She was eventually struck off charge in 1972, acquired by the RAF Museum and moved to the then-Imperial War Museum store at Duxford, as the RAFM placed her on loan to the IWM. She was refurbished in her 50 Sqn guise and put on static display at Duxford - for some years outside, but latterly undercover, dangling from the roof in the Airspace hangar. In April 2025, she was taken down from the roof and moved outside once again, and was returned to the RAF Museum, arriving at RAF Cosford in late October 2025, where it is believed to go into storage for the foreseeable.
